Oakmere’s first Fishing lake was opened in the summer of 1989.
With just the one lake for the public to fish, designed as part of a diversification project alongside the working arable farm of the Patrick Family. This became popular with many regular visitors, each enjoying the peace and quiet, the nature and surroundings and of course the ability to catch a decent sized fish!
In Easter 1997, two further lakes were opened with the addition of Oakmere Caravan Park. The site holds 27 Seasonal pitches with a further 25 grass pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes. Each pitch has electric hook up with a beautifully kept grass pitch. The caravan park has developed as the years have gone along building a great rapport with many dedicated caravanners, many who even use our storage and stay system, we store your van and place it on a pitch for your arrival.
Megan and Tony Patrick are the owners of the site, they are always happy to welcome back regular caravaners and welcome new visitors with open arms. Megan enjoys meeting and greeting and is usually the one at the end of the phone or an email. Tony drives the Tractors, does the manual work and is a pro when it comes to moving caravans! Additional family members, one son and four daughters assist around the place from time to time and support events and bank holidays.
